Biography

Mille Bureau was born in Lolland (Denmark) in 1972 where she got an early musical education from her father, guitarist Dominique Bureau. After high school in 1991 she entered the academy MGK in Nykøbing F., and finally in 1993 Mille was accepted at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen. Five years later – in 1998, she got her diploma as a performer and pedagogue of the guitar.

Receiving a scholarship from the Spanish foreign ministry of culture she went to Granada in 1998 to make investigation about spanish music at the university of Granada. She studied spanish history of music, world music traditions and flamencology. In 1991 she moved to Barcelona to study with maestro Arnaldur Arnarson in Escola D’Arts musicals Luthier.

Finally in 2002 she started a postgraduate degree as a solo guitar performer at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen with debut concert in the gallery hall of Rundetaarn in Copenhagen, June 2004.

In 2013 Mille licensed as a pilates instructor from the “Spanish Federation of Pilates and Tai Chi” in Barcelona in order to work pilates with musicians.

Nowadays Mille works as a classical guitar teacher at Guldborgsund Musicschool, and as a pilates instructor in Fora Fritid.

She is an active solo and chamber music performer.

Recently Mille started to compose for classical guitar and is currently working on a guitar method for beginners, that hopefully will be published.
