Pilates for musicians

Pilates is a physical fitness system that can help build flexibility, muscle strenght and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, developing a strong center and improving coordination and balance. It improves muscle tone, support correct posture and teaches to move with ease and grace.

Pilates can be very useful for every musician who wants control of the body and get a better position with or without the instrument.

Mille Bureau is a licensed pilates instructor from the spanish Federation of pilates and Tai Chi in Spain. Mille Bureau puts together a special pilates programme for musicans mixed with classical pilates, physiotherapy, stretching and relaxation.

Furthermore Mille asists at congresses in Madrid through the pilates studio “Corpora pilates” in colaboration with the university of Alcalá de Henares concerning general health of musicians for example the “Medicina en las artes” and “Pilates científico”.

Mille is nowadays a pilates instructor in “Fora Fritid”.
